Google is transforming its search capabilities, and YouTube is no exception. The platform is introducing 'Ask YouTube,' a new feature designed to enhance the search experience using artificial intelligence. Users can even ask follow-up questions to refine their search results further. The new feature will aggregate responses from both YouTube Shorts and longer videos, providing a comprehensive answer to user inquiries. Premium subscribers in the U.S. can access this feature immediately on desktop as part of YouTube’s ongoing effort to test advanced tools. In addition to 'Ask YouTube,' the platform is integrating Gemini Omni, Google's latest AI video model, into YouTube Shorts Remix and the YouTube Create app. This advancement aims to revolutionize video creation by enabling users to remix content in a way that fosters creativity and collaboration. According to YouTube, the Omni model enhances understanding of user intent, resulting in richer storytelling and improved handling of complex video and audio elements. While other tech giants like Meta and OpenAI have faced mixed reactions regarding their AI initiatives in short-form video, YouTube's approach appears to be more subtle and user-friendly.
