YouTube TV subscribers, frustrated by the absence of ESPN, ABC, and other Disney channels for over a week, will soon receive a $20 credit applicable to their upcoming billing. This development was initially reported by Variety, with a YouTube spokesperson confirming the details to TechCrunch. The credits are currently being distributed, and subscribers can expect to receive emails outlining how to redeem them. The disruption began on October 31, when Disney's channels were removed from the service. YouTube has indicated that should a new agreement be reached, the affected channels could be reinstated within hours. The ongoing negotiations appear to hinge on pricing disputes, with YouTube alleging that Disney has increased its rates significantly. In contrast, Disney accuses YouTube of not offering what it deems fair compensation for its channels. A similar situation arose in 2022, when YouTube TV offered a $15 credit to customers after a brief removal of Disney programming.
