Redmi 15C 5G with 6.9-inch display, 6,000mAh battery launched in India

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 15C in India, marking a significant upgrade to its budget-focused C-series. As the successor to the widely favored Redmi 14C, this new smartphone is set to compete with rivals like the Realme P4x, Infinix Hot 60i, and Oppo K13, all within the sub-₹15,000 segment. The Redmi 15C is available in an array of vibrant colors, including Moonlight Blue, Dusk Purple, and Midnight Black. Buyers can choose from three different RAM and storage configurations: 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB, and 8GB+128GB. The pricing starts at ₹12,499 for the base model, with the 6GB variant costing ₹13,999 and the 8GB variant priced at ₹15,499. The smartphone is set to hit shelves on December 11, available through Amazon, Mi.com, and various retail outlets. Featuring a plastic back with a distinctive squiricle camera module, the Redmi 15C incorporates a waterdrop-style notch at the front. Despite housing a robust 6,000mAh battery, the phone maintains a lightweight design at 211 grams and a slim profile of 8.05mm. It boasts an IP64 rating, ensuring protection against dust and water, and includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner along with a 3.5mm audio jack. The device showcases a 6.9-inch HD+ display, offering an impressive 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate, with peak brightness reaching 810 nits. It also comes with TÜV Rheinland certifications, ensuring low blue light emission and flicker-free viewing for user comfort. Under the hood, the Redmi 15C is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, complemented by LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Users can also take advantage of the virtual RAM expansion feature, which allows for up to 16GB of RAM. On the software side, the device runs on HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, with Xiaomi promising two years of OS updates and four years of security updates. For photography, the Redmi 15C is equipped with a dual rear camera system featuring a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a depth sensor. It also has an 8MP front camera with an f/2 aperture for selfies and video calls. The large 6,000mAh battery supports 33W fast charging, with the charger included in the box, and also offers 10W reverse wired charging capabilities. Connectivity options on the Redmi 15C include 5G (both SA and NSA), 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and an IR Blaster. Audio is enhanced by a button-firing loudspeaker, certified by Dolby, providing an immersive sound experience. Stay tuned for the latest technology news and updates as the Redmi 15C makes its mark in the competitive smartphone market.
