Xiaomi launches 17 Ultra smartphone, an AirTag clone, and an ultra slim powerbank

In a bold move to capture attention at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Xiaomi has introduced a range of new gadgets, including their flagship camera-centric smartphone, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, an AirTag-style tracking device, a smartwatch, and a sleek power bank. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra, developed in collaboration with renowned camera manufacturer Leica, boasts impressive photographic capabilities. The device features a cutting-edge 50-megapixel main sensor with an F/1.67 aperture and a 1-inch sensor, complemented by a remarkable 200-megapixel telephoto camera that offers variable focal lengths of 75mm to 100mm. Users can enjoy optical zoom capabilities ranging from 3.2x to 4.3x, alongside a 50 MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture. Powering the device is a robust 6,000 mAh battery, with the Chinese variant offering an even larger 6,800 mAh. Notably, the phone supports rapid charging via a 90W USB PD-PPS connection and features Xiaomi’s Hypercharge technology for wireless charging at 50W. The 6.9-inch Xiaomi HyperRGB OLED display is safeguarded by the company's proprietary Shield Glass 3.0, ensuring durability. Equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is also set to release a special edition in celebration of Leica's centennial, featuring a stylish aluminum-alloy body and a customized software theme. This edition includes a unique rotating ring that mimics a camera's zoom function, along with a “Leica Essential mode” that recreates the classic styles of the iconic Leica M9 and M3. Additionally, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 17, which includes a larger 6,330 mAh battery with 100W HyperCharge capabilities. The company also introduced two photography add-ons for the 17 Ultra: a Bluetooth-connected Photography Kit that enhances the shooting experience and a Pro version that closely resembles a traditional camera. In the realm of accessories, Xiaomi unveiled an AirTag-like device that integrates seamlessly with both Apple’s Find My and Google’s Android Find Hub. This lightweight tag, priced at €14.90 each or €49.99 for a pack of four, features a year-long battery life and sound alert functionality. Xiaomi also introduced a remarkably thin power bank, measuring just 6mm in thickness, which can charge devices at 22.5W through wired connections and 15W wirelessly. This magnetic power bank is available for €59.99 in various colors. On the smartwatch front, the new Xiaomi Watch 5 features a 930mAh battery capable of lasting up to six days, a 1.54-inch AMOLED display, and health monitoring capabilities that generate reports in just 60 seconds. It is priced at €299.99. Lastly, the company launched the Redmi Buds 8 Pro, which offer active noise cancellation and boast an impressive battery life of up to 33 hours, priced at €69.90. Xiaomi's new lineup showcases its commitment to innovation and technological advancement, setting a high standard as it enters the competitive market ahead of MWC.
