Microsoft has introduced an exciting new feature for Xbox Insiders, combining games from various PC storefronts into a single, cohesive library within the Xbox app on Windows 11. Currently accessible through the PC Gaming Preview program, this feature is being tested ahead of its anticipated wider launch later this year, coinciding with the holiday season. This update brings an aggregated gaming library that allows users to access and launch titles from multiple platforms, including Xbox, Game Pass (subscription required), Battle.net, and other prominent PC stores, all without the need to open individual launcher applications. Once a game is installed from a supported storefront, it will automatically populate in the “My Library” section of the Xbox app. Additionally, it will be listed in the “Most Recent” sidebar, enabling players to easily continue their gaming sessions. Users can customize their library visibility through the settings in the Xbox app. Under the “Library & Extensions” section, they have the option to hide titles from specific storefronts if they prefer not to see them. This feature aims to maintain a tidy interface tailored to personal preferences. Though the initial rollout supports a limited number of storefronts, Microsoft has plans to expand this list over time. This initiative aligns with a growing trend of consolidating digital game libraries across different ecosystems to enhance user experience, especially for gamers who utilize multiple services. For those not yet part of the Xbox Insider Programme but eager to test new features, joining is easy by downloading the Xbox Insider Hub app on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, or Windows PCs. Community support and discussions are available through the Xbox Insider subreddit, where users can share feedback and report any issues, as highlighted in Microsoft's blog post.
