On January 16, Elon Musk's social media platform, X, experienced a significant outage that left numerous users in India and around the globe unable to access their feeds or view posts. Reports of issues surged on Downdetector, a site that monitors online service disruptions, as many users encountered blank screens and difficulties refreshing their timelines. This incident marks the second major disruption for X within the same week. Just a few days earlier, on January 13, the platform faced a similar outage that lasted several hours, prompting a wave of complaints across competing social media platforms. Additionally, the outage impacted Grok, the chatbot developed by xAI, which is integrated into X. Downdetector also noted a rise in reported problems associated with Cloudflare, the cybersecurity and content delivery service that supports X's infrastructure. This correlation raises questions about a potential connection between the two incidents. As of now, the platform has not provided any updates regarding the ongoing outage.
