In an exciting update, the social media platform X, owned by Elon Musk, has reintroduced Voice Notes to its chat feature, allowing users to send audio messages once again. This functionality had previously been removed, but it is now available in both private and group chats, although it will not extend to public posts. The company announced this update through a post that stated, "Voice Notes on X Chat is finally here,” aiming to enhance user interaction as competitors like WhatsApp continue to lead the instant messaging space. The newly reintroduced Voice Notes feature can be accessed within the X Chat interface. Users can initiate an audio message by clicking on the voice input icon next to the text box. To record, they simply need to press and hold the button while speaking. Alternatively, there's a hands-free option where users can press and swipe up to continue recording without having to hold the button. Voice messaging has become a standard feature across many messaging applications, and this move suggests that X is keen on keeping pace with its rivals, making communication more convenient for users who prefer audio over text. In addition to Voice Notes, X Chat supports various features, including the ability to edit or delete messages, block users, receive screenshot notifications, and make video calls. This revamp aligns with Elon Musk's vision of transforming X into an all-encompassing application. The platform is also reportedly testing financial features like X Money, which aims to integrate payment services directly within the app, potentially branching out into a separate application as well.
