Women sue the men who used their Instagram feed to create AI porn influencers

A year ago, MG was living a typical life for someone in their twenties, working as a personal assistant in Scottsdale, Arizona, while also waiting tables on weekends. Like many in her age group, she maintained an Instagram account primarily to share moments with friends and family, posting casual photos of outings and activities. With just over 9,000 followers, MG didn’t seek fame; she simply used the platform for personal expression. However, everything changed when she received a disturbing direct message from a follower in the summer. This person alerted her to the existence of images and videos on Instagram that featured a woman who bore an uncanny resemblance to her. Upon clicking the link, MG was horrified to find multiple Reels showing her face digitally manipulated onto another woman’s body, dressed in revealing clothing and adorned with tattoos matching her own. The shock of discovering these altered images was profound. "If you didn’t know me well, you could very well think they were images of me," MG remarked, reflecting on the unsettling reality that she had lost control over her own likeness. The situation worsened when she learned that these unauthorized images were being used to promote AI ModelForge, a platform designed to instruct men on how to create their own AI influencers. According to a recently filed lawsuit, these men were allegedly conducting online classes that taught subscribers to utilize a software called CreatorCore, enabling them to train AI models with images of unsuspecting women, which were then shared on social networks like Instagram and TikTok.
