Wispr Flow, a startup specializing in AI-driven dictation solutions, has officially launched its Android application. This release follows the initial rollouts for Mac and Windows, and the iOS version which debuted in June 2025. On the iOS platform, users interacted with Wispr Flow through a specialized keyboard, while the Android version introduces a unique interface featuring a floating bubble. Users can dictate by holding the bubble or tapping once to initiate speech recognition, with a simple close button to halt the process. The application not only transcribes speech but also refines word choices and formats the text based on the context of the spoken content and the app being used. "Android has finally allowed us to create the voice experience we envisioned. It's only when the platform steps aside that we can genuinely anticipate voice replacing typing on mobile devices," stated Tanay Kothari, co-founder and CEO of Wispr Flow. The app boasts support for translations in over 100 languages and can function across various applications. In conjunction with the Android launch, Wispr Flow announced an infrastructure upgrade that enhances dictation speed by 30%. While numerous AI-powered dictation applications exist for desktop and iOS, Wispr Flow distinguishes itself as one of the few options available on Android, joining Typeless, which introduced its app last month. Additionally, Wispr Flow has debuted a new voice model specifically designed for Hinglish, a blend of Hindi and English commonly used in India. Kothari expressed the necessity of this feature, stating, "For someone like me, English and Hindi seamlessly intertwine during conversations with family and friends. I felt compelled to create a solution that supports Hinglish transcription, rather than relying on traditional Hindi script." Despite the early access rollout to a limited user base, Wispr Flow reported that users have collectively dictated over 1.3 million words within just a few days. The company has garnered significant attention in the AI dictation startup space, successfully raising $30 million in funding from Menlo Ventures in June, followed by an additional $25 million round led by Notable Capital in November. To date, Wispr Flow has secured a total of $81 million in funding, with its most recent valuation reaching $700 million, according to insiders.
