Wipro, the prominent Indian IT services firm, is making a significant investment in Artificial Intelligence (AI) by establishing a dedicated division known as the AI-Native Business and Platforms Unit. This strategic move marks a departure from traditional IT outsourcing, as Wipro aims to introduce 'services as software' that can be easily scaled and reused across various industries. In conjunction with the launch of this new AI division, Wipro has announced a series of leadership changes. Nagendra Bandaru, who has dedicated over thirty years to the company, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the AI unit. Bandaru previously led the Technology Services Global Business Lines as President and Managing Partner, and he will now report directly to Wipro’s CEO and Managing Director, Srini Pallia. To fill his former role, Kanwar Singh has been named the new President and Managing Partner of Technology Services GBLs. Singh comes from a successful tenure at Accenture and is set to take on a more expansive role within Wipro. The newly formed AI-Native Business and Platforms Unit is set to enhance Wipro’s capabilities in developing enterprise-grade agentic AI platforms, providing tailored AI solutions for businesses. The initiative aims to merge Wipro’s various Intelligence platform assets, such as NetOxygen for AI-driven lending, the aviation cargo platform CROAMIS, and healthcare platforms like IHS and HPS, into a cohesive offering. This integration will strengthen Wipro's AI portfolio. Wipro plans to adopt an 'invest-build-partner' strategy, focusing on investing in innovative ideas, developing new AI products, and forming partnerships with other companies. According to Pallia, this transition will enable Wipro to rapidly advance AI-led platforms and create new growth avenues. In addition to these pivotal changes, Wipro has also confirmed that Suzanne Dann, the Chief Executive of the Americas-2 Strategic Market Unit, will be leaving the company on May 3, 2026. This leadership transformation underscores Wipro's commitment to expanding its AI initiatives and adapting to the evolving technological landscape.
