WhatsApp can now draft AI-generated responses based on your conversations

WhatsApp is set to enhance its user experience with a range of innovative updates, prominently featuring an AI-driven tool that generates suggested replies based on previous conversations. This new functionality aims to streamline communication for users by providing quick, contextually relevant responses. In addition to this, the Meta-owned messaging platform is unveiling several other enhancements, including a new method for optimizing storage, an AI feature for photo editing, and more. The revamped 'Writing Help' feature, which debuted last August, is receiving significant improvements. It assists users in rephrasing, proofreading, and adjusting the tone of their messages, ensuring messages resonate just right. Meta is likely encouraging users to utilize this in-app feature rather than relying on third-party tools like ChatGPT for drafting messages. However, there may be reservations among users who value authentic and personal interactions with their loved ones over AI-generated text. WhatsApp assures users that their privacy remains intact, even while using the Writing Help feature. To access this feature, users simply tap the chat bar, select the stickers icon, and choose the sparkling pencil icon, which indicates the AI capabilities. Moreover, the platform has introduced a tool to help users efficiently manage their storage by identifying and allowing the deletion of large files within chats without losing entire conversation histories. This means users can selectively clear media files while preserving their chat records. Additionally, users can now leverage Meta AI to enhance their photos directly within chats, allowing for edits such as removing distractions or changing backgrounds. The latest update also supports transferring chat histories between iOS and Android devices, as well as maintaining two WhatsApp accounts on iOS, a feature already available on Android. Furthermore, WhatsApp's sticker functionality is being upgraded, enabling users to receive sticker suggestions as they type emojis, promoting a more engaging chatting experience. These new features are currently being rolled out and will soon be accessible to all users.
