Volvo has officially launched its latest electric vehicle, the EX60, following an exciting teaser campaign that included an exclusive preview with Ars. This midsize SUV promises impressive features, including an estimated range of up to 400 miles, as per the US EPA test cycle, and rapid charging capabilities of up to 400 kW. The EX60 is equipped with cutting-edge technology powered by Nvidia and Qualcomm, enhancing its advanced driver assistance systems and introducing a new AI personal assistant for users. Full specifications have been released, detailing three distinct powertrain options as well as two rugged variants under the EX60 Cross Country lineup. Starting with the base model, the EX60 P6, this single-motor variant delivers 369 horsepower (275 kW) and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque to the rear wheels. It features an 80 kWh usable battery (83 kWh gross) that can charge at rates up to 320 kW, allowing it to go from 10 to 80 percent charge in as little as 18 minutes. Notably, the EX60 will be the first Volvo model available in the US with an integrated NACS port. The P6 variant boasts a range of 310 miles (490 km) when equipped with 20-inch wheels, with minor reductions in range for larger wheel sizes. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 98 km/h) in just 5.7 seconds and, like all modern Volvos, is capped at a top speed of 112 mph (180 km/h). Users should note that all range estimates are based on the US EPA test cycle, which may differ from figures reported in other regions using the WLTP standard.
