Apple’s new Siri may allow users to operate apps just using voice

In a bold move towards enhancing user experience, Apple has unveiled a glimpse of an advanced Siri that promises seamless integration with a variety of applications. Although this new iteration has yet to be officially launched, recent reports from Bloomberg indicate that Apple is actively testing a version of Siri designed to execute commands across multiple apps through simple voice instructions. The tech giant is working on an updated version of App Intents, a framework that empowers developers to grant users access to specific functionalities within their applications via system features like search and Shortcuts. If successful, this new Siri could allow users to effortlessly request tasks such as searching for a photo, editing it, and sharing it, as well as posting comments on social media platforms or logging into different services. Initial trials are already underway with several popular applications, including Uber, AllTrails, Threads, Temu, Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, and WhatsApp. While anticipation grows, Apple is reportedly aiming for a significant overhaul of Siri, with a planned release date set for the spring of 2026.
