Vi launches new₹871 Max Family plan with Netflix, 120GB data and 5G access

Vodafone Idea, commonly known as Vi, has introduced an innovative postpaid plan titled the Vi Max Family Plan, specifically designed for families seeking an all-in-one solution for connectivity and entertainment. This new offering is priced at ₹871 monthly and provides two mobile connections—one for the primary user and another for a secondary user—along with a range of digital and travel perks. A standout feature of this plan is the complimentary subscription to Netflix's Basic plan, which is exclusively available to the primary account holder. Furthermore, subscribers can access a variety of other OTT platforms with a total monthly data allowance of 120GB. This allocation breaks down to 70GB for the primary user, 40GB for the secondary user, and an additional 10GB for shared use. The plan also allows for data rollover, permitting users to carry forward up to 400GB—200GB for each user—and includes unlimited data access during nighttime hours from midnight to 6 AM. In terms of calling, users can enjoy unlimited local, STD, and national roaming calls, in addition to receiving 3,000 free SMS messages each month. The plan features Vi's 'Choice' benefits, enabling subscribers to select one entertainment subscription from options like Amazon Prime, Disney+ Hotstar, SonyLIV, and Fancode, all accessible through the Vi Movies & TV app. Additionally, users can opt for either a year-long subscription to Norton Mobile Security or the EaseMyTrip Travel Benefit, which provides exclusive discounts on flight bookings. For added flexibility, the Max Family Plan allows users to increase their connectivity by adding up to six secondary members at a cost of ₹299 each. Each additional user will receive 40GB of data along with the same unlimited calling privileges. The plan also includes unlimited 5G access, currently available in select cities across India, including Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Patna, Chandigarh, and Bengaluru. Vi has stated that this plan aims to meet the increasing digital consumption demands of Indian families while providing the option to customize benefits according to individual preferences. With intensifying competition in the telecom industry, this latest offering is seen as a strategic effort by Vi to attract premium postpaid users who are looking for a comprehensive package that combines entertainment, travel benefits, and robust 5G connectivity.
