Vodafone Idea (Vi) is making significant strides in its 5G expansion across India, officially introducing its high-speed network in nine additional cities. This move is part of a comprehensive strategy that aims to enhance connectivity in a total of 23 cities and 17 priority regions. With this latest update, Vi now provides 5G services in 18 cities, and further expansions are anticipated in the near future. Among the newly included cities, Vi has already launched services in eight locations, with Meerut set to join soon. This phased rollout showcases Vi's commitment to reaching both tier 1 and tier 2 cities in various states, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Uttar Pradesh. Previously, the company's 5G services were primarily available in major urban centers like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Patna, and Mysuru. Looking ahead, Vi has confirmed that the next phase of its expansion will extend into 2025, with a goal of covering the full 23 cities. To promote adoption of its 5G services, Vi is rolling out an enticing offer of unlimited 5G data on select prepaid plans starting at Rs 299. These options include daily data caps of 1GB for Rs 299, 1.5GB for Rs 349, and 2GB for Rs 365, all valid for 28 days. Remarkably, Vodafone Idea stands out as the only telecom operator in India providing unlimited 5G data on plans with daily limits below 2GB. The company reports that more than 70% of eligible Vi users have already tapped into its high-speed network, which enhances experiences in high-definition streaming, cloud gaming, video conferencing, rapid downloads, and real-time cloud services. Additionally, Vi has launched a dedicated microsite to present detailed information about its 5G features, as well as updates to its prepaid and postpaid plans.
