Vivo Y400 5G to launch in India on 4 August: Price, expected specs and more

Vivo has announced the impending release of its latest mid-range smartphone, the Y400 5G, in India, scheduled for August 4. This launch comes on the heels of last month's introduction of the Y400 Pro, which entered the market at a starting price of ₹24,999. The Y400 5G will be available in two stylish color options: Glam White and Olive Green. Teaser images released by Vivo reveal a design reminiscent of the Y400 Pro, featuring a curved back and a vertical camera layout, likely housing a dual-camera system. Ahead of its debut, tech tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore has provided insights into the device's specifications. According to these leaks, the Vivo Y400 5G may feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, boasting a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, with peak brightness reaching 1800 nits. On the camera front, the Y400 5G is rumored to be equipped with a dual-camera system, including a 50MP Sony IMX852 primary lens paired with a 2MP bokeh sensor. For selfies and video calls, a 32MP front-facing camera is expected. Performance-wise, the smartphone is anticipated to be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, a processor previously utilized in budget-friendly models like the Poco M7 and the recently unveiled Lava Blaze Dragon. Storage options may include configurations of 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. Interestingly, the Y400 5G is expected to feature a more robust battery compared to the Y400 Pro, with a capacity of 6,000mAh and the capability for 90W wired fast charging. Like other recent Vivo models, it is likely to run on Funtouch OS 15, based on Android 15. Additional features may include a stereo speaker setup and an optical fingerprint sensor embedded under the display for enhanced security. The device is also rumored to carry an IP68 and IP69 rating for water and dust resistance. Although specific pricing details remain unconfirmed, sources suggest that the 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant could be priced at ₹21,999, while the 8GB RAM/256GB model might retail for ₹23,999. Official pricing and launch promotions will be revealed during the press event on August 4.
