Vivo has officially revealed that its highly anticipated flagship foldable device, the X Fold5, will make its debut on June 25 at 7 PM Beijing time (4:30 PM IST). The event will also introduce the new vivo TWS Air3 Pro wireless earbuds. In preparation for the launch, Vivo has opened early reservations for the X Fold5 via its official online store and various partner retailers in China. Consumers can place a deposit of CNY 10 (approximately ₹120) to secure their device and receive a benefits package valued at CNY 277 (around ₹3,300). While the complete specifications are yet to be disclosed, early reports indicate that the X Fold5 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, with options for up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The device is expected to feature stunning 8T LTPO OLED displays, including an 8.03-inch primary screen and a 6.53-inch cover screen. Vivo is promising significant enhancements over its predecessor, with the X Fold5 designed to be lighter, slimmer, and more robust. Notably, it will introduce industry-first IP5X dust resistance along with IPX8, IPX9, and IPX9+ water resistance, setting a new benchmark for durability in foldable smartphones. A standout feature of the X Fold5 is its status as the first Android smartphone to provide direct access to Apple iCloud. Users will be able to log into their Apple ID through the device’s file manager, allowing them to access, edit, and synchronize iCloud photos, files, and Apple Notes in real time. Moreover, the X Fold5 supports cross-device connectivity with iPhones, enabling users to view text messages and verification codes received on their iPhone directly on the foldable device, as well as answer iPhone calls seamlessly using the X Fold5.
