Vivo X Fold 5 and X200 FE launching in India on 14 July: What to expect?

Vivo is gearing up for an exciting launch event in India, showcasing two highly anticipated smartphones: the X Fold 5 and the X200 FE. Scheduled for July 14, this event promises to introduce devices that will challenge some of the biggest names in the industry, including Samsung and Motorola for the foldable segment, and OnePlus with the X200 FE. The Vivo X200 FE is confirmed to feature a compact 6.31-inch display and boasts a sleek design with a thickness of less than 8 mm. It will be equipped with impressive camera capabilities, including dual 50MP ZEISS-branded lenses and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, although details regarding the specific sensor technology remain undisclosed. Notably, the X200 FE will also house a robust 6,500 mAh battery, supporting 90W wired fast charging, and will meet IP68 and IP69 standards for water and dust resistance, ensuring it can withstand submersion in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. Performance-wise, the X200 FE is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, a chip recently featured in the Vivo T4 Ultra. Users can expect fast data access with UFS 3.1 storage and the device will run on Vivo's FunTouch OS 15, based on Android 15. The smartphone will be available in four appealing color options: Blue Breeze, Yellow Glow, Pink Vibe, and Black Luxe. On the other hand, while Vivo has yet to confirm the specifications for the Indian variant of the X Fold 5, insights from its Chinese model give us a glimpse of what’s to come. This foldable device is expected to sport an impressive 8.03-inch 2K+ 8T LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Additionally, it will feature a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LTPO AMOLED cover display with similar specifications. Under the hood, the X Fold 5 will be driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor alongside the Adreno 750 GPU, offering up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Chinese version operates on OriginOS 5, but the Indian model is expected to run Vivo’s FunTouch OS 15. In terms of photography, the X Fold 5 is rumored to include a 50MP primary camera with optical image stabilization, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP telephoto lens, complemented by a 20MP front-facing camera for high-quality selfies. Moreover, it will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and an IPX9+ rating for enhanced water resistance. The device will also pack a substantial 6,000mAh battery, supporting 80W wired and 40W wireless charging. With these two innovative smartphones, Vivo aims to make a significant impact in the competitive mobile market as the launch date approaches.
