Kabir Narang, a key figure at B Capital and influential supporter of numerous Indian startups, has departed from the prominent global venture firm. This move has been confirmed by B Capital and reported by TechCrunch. Narang is in the process of establishing a new investment platform expected to launch in 2026, which aims to capitalize on the convergence of technology, artificial intelligence, and global capital trends. Since joining B Capital in March 2017, Narang played a pivotal role in shaping the firm's strategy in Asia from Singapore and led its global investment committee. His tenure saw him support a range of Indian startups, including Meesho, Khatabook, CredAvenue, Bounce, and Bizongo. Narang has expressed that we are currently witnessing one of the most significant technological transformations in history, alongside a challenging period for investors. "AI accelerates thought processes, diminishing the distance between concepts and their execution," he stated. He believes that founders who harness this speed while maintaining pricing power and enhancing unit economics will be the architects of future enduring value. In addition to launching his new investment platform, Narang plans to acquire personal stakes ranging from 1% to 2% in select companies that demonstrate intelligent compounding potential. This indicates his intention to remain actively involved in early-stage investments even as he develops a more expansive investment vehicle. B Capital has acknowledged Narang's departure, noting that Eduardo Saverin, Karan Mohla, and Howard Morgan will oversee the firm’s Asia portfolio alongside the current team in South and Southeast Asia. A B Capital spokesperson remarked, "After over eight years with the firm, Kabir Narang, who focused on later-stage growth investments in Asia, has left to explore new opportunities. We appreciate his contributions and wish him success in his future endeavors." Founded in 2015 by Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin and former Bain Capital executive Raj Ganguly, B Capital is a multi-stage investor dedicated to technology, healthcare, and resilience technology. The firm manages over $9 billion in assets across nine offices in the U.S. and Asia. Through its partnership with Boston Consulting Group, B Capital also offers strategic and operational assistance to its portfolio companies. Looking ahead, B Capital remains committed to its strategy in Asia. A spokesperson emphasized that with strong leadership and a skilled team, the firm is well-positioned to seize the forthcoming wave of innovation and continue supporting leading companies in its key markets. Narang has yet to respond to requests for comments regarding his departure and future plans.
