CrowdStrike-backed compliance startup Vanta valued at $4 billion in new funding round

Vanta, a notable player in compliance management software, announced the successful completion of its latest funding round, achieving an impressive valuation of approximately $4 billion. This round, which garnered $150 million and included backing from CrowdStrike's investment arm, marks a significant increase from last year’s valuation of $2.45 billion. This remarkable surge in valuation underscores the growing corporate focus on cybersecurity tools aimed at minimizing the repercussions of cyberattacks. Recent events, such as Microsoft's urgent updates to its SharePoint platform following a breach involving Chinese hackers, highlight the critical need for enhanced security measures. Christina Cacioppo, co-founder and CEO of Vanta, refrained from disclosing specific revenue figures but indicated that the company's growth trajectory aligns with industry-leading SaaS firms. She noted an increase in deal sizes and a surge in client acquisitions. Vanta specializes in ensuring compliance with standards like SOC 2 and ISO 27001 and currently serves over 12,000 clients, including major tech firms such as Atlassian and Snowflake. Moreover, Vanta's services extend beyond the tech sector, assisting various businesses in expediting security reviews required for engaging third-party suppliers. Founded in 2018 by Cacioppo and Erik Goldman, the San Francisco-based startup has rapidly expanded its workforce to over 1,000 employees. In addition to CrowdStrike Ventures, notable participants in this funding round included Wellington Management, Atlassian Ventures, JPMorgan Chase, and Sequoia Capital. Since 2021, Vanta has successfully raised a total of $504 million and has not yet utilized the $150 million acquired in the previous year.
