The eagerly awaited Google Pixel 10 series is generating significant buzz as its launch date approaches, tentatively set for August 20 during the annual Made by Google event. Although an official announcement is still pending, sources suggest that the devices could be available for purchase as early as August 28. However, recent leaks reveal that the standard Pixel 10 model may not include several anticipated features, indicating potential drawbacks. Reports from Android Headlines indicate that the base Pixel 10 will not incorporate a vapour chamber cooling system, which is essential for sustaining high performance during demanding tasks such as gaming and 4K video recording. This decision continues a pattern established by last year's Pixel 9, which also excluded this feature from the standard model, making it available only on the Pixel 9 Pro. In addition to the cooling system, the Pixel 10 is rumored to lack support for Wi-Fi 7, the latest connectivity technology introduced with the Pixel 9. If confirmed, this could hinder users’ experiences by limiting download speeds and increasing latency on compatible networks. Moreover, one of the standout features anticipated for the Pixel 10 Pro, known as Ultra Res Zoom, is expected to be absent from the standard version. Building upon the existing Super Res Zoom, which provided up to 8x magnification, this new feature promises even greater zoom capabilities, although specific details remain unclear. Video stabilization is another area where the base Pixel 10 may fall short. Earlier leaks hinted at gimbal-level stabilization, but new information suggests that this advanced recording feature will not be part of the standard model. In terms of design, the Pixel 10 is expected to maintain a similar look to its predecessor, featuring a matte finish on the sides and a glossy rear panel. Internally, improvements are likely to include a redesigned triple rear camera setup with a telephoto lens and enhanced loudspeaker performance. The entire Pixel 10 series is anticipated to be powered by Google's latest in-house chipset, the Tensor G5. As the August unveiling draws closer, these reported omissions may lead some potential buyers to consider the more feature-rich Pro models instead.
