As the countdown begins for Google's highly anticipated Made by Google event scheduled for August 20, speculation surrounding the Pixel 10 is intensifying. While it seems that the new flagship smartphone will retain many design elements from the Pixel 9, significant enhancements are rumored, especially in camera features, battery life, and overall performance. Initial renders suggest only subtle visual modifications, with the signature camera bar likely making a comeback. The Pixel 10 is expected to maintain the same 6.3-inch Actua display seen in its predecessor. However, users can anticipate a fresh palette of color options, including Obsidian, Indigo, Frost, and Limoncello, differing from the previous selection of Obsidian, Porcelain, Winter Green, and Peony. Perhaps the most exciting updates are in the camera department. The Pixel 9 featured a dual-camera setup with a 50 MP primary sensor and a 48 MP ultrawide lens, but the Pixel 10 is rumored to introduce a third camera. Although some existing lenses may see a reduction in resolution, a new 10.8 MP telephoto lens that supports 5x optical zoom is expected to enhance mobile photography capabilities significantly. Battery performance is also set for an upgrade, as the Pixel 10 is anticipated to include a 4,970mAh battery, a slight increase over the 4,700mAh battery found in the Pixel 9. Leaked images indicate that the device may support Qi2 wireless charging, featuring magnets for better alignment and possibly faster charging. Under the hood, the Pixel 10 is expected to be powered by Google's new Tensor G5 chip, which is projected to deliver improved processing power and efficiency compared to the Tensor G4 used in the Pixel 9. On the software front, with the Pixel 9 already operating on Android 16, it is likely that the Pixel 10 will launch with this version as well. After last year’s increase in the base price from the Pixel 8 to the Pixel 9, bringing it to $799, reports suggest the Pixel 10 will maintain this pricing strategy. If confirmed, the entry-level model will again be priced at $799, approximately ₹69,845 in India, providing some stability in an ever-evolving market. While the Pixel 10 may visually resemble the Pixel 9, the anticipated improvements in camera technology, battery life, and processing power suggest a more refined user experience. With the official announcement on the horizon, tech enthusiasts eagerly await confirmation of these rumored upgrades and their potential impact on daily usage.
