At the recently held Made by Google 2025 event, the tech giant introduced its latest innovation, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, along with the entire Pixel 10 series. Priced at $1,799, this foldable device boasts groundbreaking features such as a new gearless hinge and significant camera enhancements, all powered by the advanced Tensor G5 chip designed to elevate AI experiences. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold stands out with its striking design, available in elegant Moonstone and Jade. It packs a robust 16GB of RAM and offers storage options of up to 1TB. One of its most notable features is the innovative gearless hinge, which not only allows for a larger outer display with minimized bezels but also promises double the durability compared to its predecessor, ensuring the device can endure over a decade of folding. With an impressive 8-inch inner display, touted as the largest in its category, and a 6.4-inch outer screen enhanced by smaller bezels, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold redefines the foldable phone experience. The inner Super Actual Flex display is constructed with ultra-thin glass and dual layers of anti-impact films for superior protection against drops. Additionally, this model introduces IP68 water and dust resistance, alongside a battery capable of lasting 30 hours and achieving a 50% charge in just 30 minutes. Google highlights that the displays are now 11% brighter than previous models, reaching a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Furthermore, this device is the first foldable phone to incorporate Qi2 charging technology. The new Pixelsnap magnetic technology allows users to easily attach the “Pixelsnap Charger with Stand” even while the phone is unfolded, or use the “Pixelsnap Ring Stand” for a hands-free viewing experience. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold also enhances multitasking capabilities with its Split Screen feature, enabling users to resize apps and seamlessly move content between them. Whether planning a trip with friends or sharing photos, this functionality provides a more interactive experience. For gaming enthusiasts, the outer display introduces new controller features that enhance gameplay in popular titles like “Asphalt Legends” and “Disney Speedstorm.” Additionally, streaming on platforms such as Netflix and Disney+ has been optimized for an immersive experience on the go. Photography has also received a significant boost with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The newly introduced Instant View feature allows users to review their captured images on the expansive inner screen immediately. The camera array includes a 48 MP wide lens, a 5x telephoto lens with Super Res Zoom up to 20x, and an ultrawide lens with Macro Focus, ensuring that users can capture stunning images with ease. The Tensor G5 chip represents a monumental leap forward for Google, enhancing both performance and AI capabilities. With double-digit performance improvements, including a TPU that is 60% more powerful and a CPU that operates 34% faster on average, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold ensures smooth web browsing and app launches. It also supports the latest Gemini Nano model, unleashing over 20 generative AI features at launch, such as Gemini Live and Magic Cue. Pre-orders for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold are open now, with the official release set for October 9, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of foldable smartphones.
