Perplexity has officially launched its latest premium subscription tier, Perplexity Max, available for $200 per month. This new tier is tailored for users who demand advanced AI functionalities, offering unrestricted access to the innovative Labs mode, priority use of new tools, and support for cutting-edge AI models. Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity, stated that the Max plan allows for unlimited queries in Labs and Research modes, automatically utilizing advanced models like OpenAI's o3-pro and Anthropic's Claude Opus 4. Additionally, subscribers will gain early access to Comet, an upcoming AI-driven browser from Perplexity, along with new features and products based on agent technologies. "Max users will be the first to experience Comet and all the new agent functionalities as they are released," Srinivas announced in a recent post on X (formerly Twitter). The introduction of the Max tier signifies an important shift, as it eliminates previous monthly query limitations for Pro subscribers, enhancing their experience. This tier also provides access to exclusive premium data sources and includes priority support for subscribers. Perplexity has designed this subscription for professionals, researchers, content creators, and strategists who need comprehensive research tools and advanced orchestration capabilities. For those with more moderate requirements, the existing Pro plan continues to be offered at a more affordable rate of $20 per month, while the Enterprise Pro option supports team management and security needs. Moreover, an enterprise version of the Max tier is currently in the works. Perplexity Max is now accessible on both the web and iOS platforms, with existing users able to upgrade through their account settings.
