OpenAI has introduced a series of intriguing new features to the ChatGPT app, allowing users to customize the intelligence level of their prompts. Following the recent update that included a new model, users can now experience variations in response quality, speed, and reasoning capabilities. One of the standout additions is a gesture feature that lets users adjust how much reasoning power ChatGPT applies to a prompt before sending it. By simply pressing and holding the send button, users can access an intelligence-level selector to choose between three modes: Instant, Thinking, and Extended. This functionality allows for tailored responses based on how detailed users want the information to be, although availability may vary depending on the user's subscription plan. In addition, OpenAI has incorporated a table of contents feature for lengthy conversations, enhancing navigation within the app. For discussions containing five or more responses, ChatGPT automatically organizes the content into sections based on topics. A menu icon on the right side of extended conversations allows users to easily access this feature, currently available on the web app. Moreover, improvements have been made to the performance of the GPT-5.5 Instant model, focusing on enhancing the style and quality of responses. These updates reflect OpenAI's commitment to continuously refine user experience and functionality within the ChatGPT platform.
