For $1 million, you can pay Bryan Johnson (or BryanAI?) to teach you how to live longer

As February's dry air settles in, many begin to reflect on the passage of time and the inevitable approach of aging. It’s a thought that hits home especially hard as I approach my 30th birthday, a stark reminder that I will never be younger than I am today. Enter Bryan Johnson, a fintech entrepreneur turned longevity advocate, who has an intriguing offer: for a staggering $1 million annually, he promises to share the 'exact protocol' he has adhered to over the past five years through his new initiative, 'Immortals.' Yes, the man who has famously undergone unconventional treatments, including botox injections, believes he might hold the keys to reversing the aging process. Johnson, born in 1977—around the same time many current adults entered the world—has yet to prove his longevity claims. Nevertheless, he is confident enough to invite others to join him on this journey to a longer life. Launching the Immortals program, Johnson is only offering three exclusive spots at the premium price of $1 million each. This top-tier service includes a dedicated concierge team, 24/7 access to an AI version of Johnson, extensive testing, and access to cutting-edge therapies. It sounds enticing, but for many of us, the price tag is simply out of reach. While I can’t afford the luxury of this program, I can still indulge a little by purchasing Johnson’s high-priced olive oil, which is said to be both peppery and smooth. Yet, it’s evident that the ultra-wealthy are increasingly drawn to the concept of longevity. Take John Hering, for instance, who has financially backed Elon Musk and co-founded Biograph, a preventative health clinic with an annual membership fee of $15,000. In comparison, Johnson's offer seems exorbitant, but its exclusivity may attract those with deep pockets. Another startup, Fountain Life, has raised $108 million for its own longevity program, charging $21,500 per year. While Johnson’s program is the most expensive, he does offer a 'supported tier' for those who can’t commit to seven figures, priced at $60,000. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with the desire for a longer, healthier life, the lengths to which influencers like Johnson go can seem extreme and, arguably, unnecessary for the average person. Johnson’s goal isn’t to force everyone into a regiment of extreme health measures, but he certainly isn’t turning away the opportunity to profit from his 'secrets' either.
