In a separate study conducted at Sorbonne University by cognitive neuroscientist Célia Lacaux and her team, over 100 subjects tackled a mathematical problem. Participants were informed of two straightforward rules to solve the problem but were unaware of a shortcut that could expedite their success. The researchers aimed to determine if the participants would discover this shortcut after engaging in a nap akin to Edison’s approach, with EEG monitoring to observe any signs of sudden insight.
