Elon Musk has revealed an exciting update for users of his Grok AI chatbot, announcing that the newly launched Imagine feature for video and image generation is now available for free. Initially restricted to paid subscribers, this feature was opened up to all users shortly after the release of OpenAI's GPT-5 model. Grok AI has quickly positioned itself as a pioneering chatbot by offering video generation capabilities at no cost, while similar offerings from OpenAI and Google remain behind paywalls. With Grok Imagine, users can either create a new image or upload an existing one, after which the chatbot allows them to transform it into a short video. The Imagine feature boasts several creative modes, including Normal, Fun, Custom, and Spicy. The Spicy mode, which generates adult content, is an opt-in feature with age restrictions. Users can create videos that are up to 15 seconds long, complete with synchronized audio. Currently in its early beta phase, this feature is accessible exclusively through the Grok iOS and Android applications, with no announcements yet regarding its launch on the dedicated website. To start using Grok Imagine, users need to open the app, ensure it’s updated to the latest version, and navigate to the chat window where a new Imagine tab will be visible. Here, they can input text prompts or upload images to initiate the creative process. Prior to this update, xAI had introduced dedicated companions within the Grok app, named Ani, Rudi, and Valentine, enhancing user interaction on the platform.
