Adobe has unveiled the mobile iteration of its Firefly application, bringing the power of AI-driven image and video generation to both iOS and Android users. This innovative platform is tailored for creatives on the move, enabling them to generate, modify, and refine multimedia content using simple text prompts. Whether users are crafting visuals for social media or initiating a comprehensive design project, Firefly aims to be their go-to creative hub. Launched from Adobe's San Jose headquarters, the Firefly mobile app is described as a comprehensive creative platform that merges generative AI functionalities with seamless integration into Adobe's Creative Cloud suite. This includes popular tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and Adobe Express. Ely Greenfield, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Adobe, expressed enthusiasm about the creativity showcased by users, saying, "Creators continue to impress us with the breadth and artistry of the images, videos, graphics, and designs they’re dreaming up in the Firefly app." In conjunction with the app launch, Adobe introduced Firefly Boards in public beta, a collaborative moodboarding tool that empowers creative teams to brainstorm using AI-generated visuals and videos in real time. The platform now supports video content, allowing teams to remix existing footage or create new clips with the help of AI models from Adobe, Google, Luma AI, and Pika, among others. The Firefly mobile app is equipped with advanced features, including Text to Image, Text to Video, Generative Fill, and Generative Expand. Users can easily modify images by adding or removing elements, extending compositions, and even producing stylized videos from still images. All creations made on mobile devices are automatically synchronized with the users' Creative Cloud accounts, facilitating a seamless transition between mobile, desktop, and web workflows. To enhance creative possibilities, Firefly now incorporates generative models from third-party developers such as Ideogram, Runway, Luma AI, and Black Forest Labs. These new partnerships, alongside existing collaborations with OpenAI and Google, offer creators a broader range of aesthetic tools and options. Firefly Boards allows teams to work collaboratively across various media formats, enabling iterative image edits through conversational text prompts and facilitating rapid prototyping with diverse AI models. In a commitment to ethical content generation, Adobe has integrated Content Credentials into all AI-generated media within Firefly, ensuring clarity on the models used and the creation process. With over 24 billion assets generated globally using Firefly's models, Adobe reports a remarkable 30 percent increase in traffic quarter-over-quarter, with paid subscriptions nearly doubling during the same timeframe. Users can now download the Firefly app from both the App Store and Google Play Store, while Firefly Boards remains in public beta via the Firefly web application. Both features are included in Adobe’s Creative Cloud Pro plan.
