As winter approaches, Uber is gearing up to take skiers on thrilling adventures to the slopes. The ride-hailing giant has unveiled Uber Ski, a new service that enables users to book rides to and from nearly 40 ski destinations across the U.S., Canada, Switzerland, and France, as announced in a recent release. This seasonal offering will be available until March. In collaboration with Vail Resorts, riders can now utilize Uber Reserve to secure rides directly to various mountain resort locations. Ski enthusiasts can also purchase an Epic Pass within the app, granting access to over 90 ski and snowboarding locations. The service allows users to book either an UberXL or UberXXL up to 90 days in advance, with the larger vehicles providing ample trunk space for all the necessary gear. This initiative is part of a broader series of updates from Uber as the holiday season approaches. Pradeep Parameswaran, Uber's global head of mobility, emphasized that these new features aim to alleviate the stress of travel logistics, enabling users to focus on enjoying their cherished moments during the festive period. Additionally, amid ongoing flight delays and cancellations linked to the recent federal government shutdown, Uber is rolling out Uber Share at three major airports. This feature allows riders at John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and Orlando International Airport to save up to 25% by sharing rides with fellow travelers heading in the same direction. Furthermore, Uber has introduced a new "Send a Ride" feature within its app, allowing users to cover the cost of someone else's ride by sending a voucher link, which will automatically apply to the recipient's next trip. For those already familiar with Uber Eats, this gifting option is an exciting addition. Users can even personalize their gift with a video message, featuring celebrities like Megan Thee Stallion, the Jonas Brothers, and Tracee Ellis Ross.
