Former President Donald Trump expressed his apprehensions regarding the rise of AI-generated media during a press briefing at the White House. Responding to a question about a viral video that appeared to show an object being thrown from a second-story window, Trump admitted, "It's a little bit scary, to be honest with you." The president speculated that the clip was likely created by AI, noting that the window in question is both heavily armored and bulletproof, making it extremely difficult to open. "The last place I'd be doing it is that," he remarked, emphasizing the presence of surveillance cameras around the White House. Trump's remarks came in stark contrast to an earlier statement from a White House official, who attributed the incident to a contractor performing routine maintenance while the president was away. The White House has not yet addressed this apparent inconsistency. Discussing the dual nature of artificial intelligence, Trump stated, "One of the problems we have with AI — it's both good and bad. If something happens really bad, just blame AI. But also, they create things. You know, it works both ways." Notably, other political figures, such as Vice President JD Vance, have also engaged with AI for various creative projects, including generating illustrations for a children's book. Vance humorously remarked on the bizarre nature of some of the AI-generated images he received, saying, "Some of them are completely deranged. It’s like, a jaguar with its fang through the skull of a tiger. And it’s like, 'This is really gruesome stuff.' But here we are. The kids loved it."
