In a bold statement made on Friday, former President Donald Trump called for Microsoft to dismiss Lisa Monaco, the company's president of global affairs. Trump criticized Monaco for her previous roles as a senior National Security aide under former President Barack Obama and as Deputy Attorney General under President Joe Biden, referring to her as part of a politically charged narrative. He expressed concerns over her access to 'Highly Sensitive Information,' branding it as 'unacceptable.' On his Truth Social platform, Trump asserted, 'It is my opinion that Microsoft should immediately terminate the employment of Lisa Monaco.' Monaco's background includes significant positions within both the Obama and Biden administrations, where she served as Deputy Attorney General. Earlier this year, Trump rescinded her security clearance, a move that also affected Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, and the Biden family. Monaco joined Microsoft in May, where she is responsible for the company's cybersecurity policy and its international governmental relationships. Laura Loomer, a far-right activist and Trump supporter, has been vocal about her discontent with Monaco's hiring. She has made several posts on social media platform X, criticizing Microsoft and its CEO, Satya Nadella, for his background and suggesting misconduct in their hiring practices. On the same day, Loomer echoed Trump's sentiments by urging him to cancel all of Microsoft's government contracts, further intensifying the scrutiny on Monaco's position. Trump's previous criticisms of tech executives have included calls for resignations from figures like Intel President Lip-Bu Tan over supposed conflicts of interest, illustrating his ongoing engagement with tech industry leadership.
