Trump Mobile confirms it exposed customers’ personal data, including phone numbers and home addresses

Trump Mobile has revealed a significant lapse in data privacy, confirming that sensitive customer information—including names, email addresses, mailing addresses, and phone numbers—was inadvertently exposed to the public internet. Chris Walker, a spokesperson for the company, stated that an ongoing investigation is underway, although there is currently no indication that financial details or other critical data were compromised. The company clarified that this incident does not stem from a breach of its own network or systems. Instead, the exposure has been traced back to a third-party platform that assists in various operations for Trump Mobile. However, the identity of this provider has not been disclosed. This announcement follows reports from earlier in the week, wherein customers of Trump Mobile discovered that their personal data was accessible online. Notably, two YouTubers who had purchased devices from the company were contacted by a researcher who highlighted the vulnerability. After attempts to notify Trump Mobile about the issue went unanswered, the YouTubers, Coffeezilla and penguinz0, took to social media to raise awareness. Walker indicated that Trump Mobile is currently assessing whether customers should be informed about the exposure of their personal data, emphasizing the company's commitment to protecting user information.
