Truecaller's new Secure Calls feature promises spoof-proof business calls

In a significant move to enhance security in business communications, Truecaller has introduced a new feature named Secure Calls, part of its Truecaller for Business platform. This innovation is a response to the escalating issue of call spoofing, which poses a serious threat to trust in phone conversations. The Secure Calls feature is an extension of Truecaller’s Verified Business solution, providing an extra layer of authentication for calls made by registered businesses. Each call undergoes a rigorous verification process behind the scenes to confirm its legitimacy before the connection is established. Once verified, calls are distinctly marked as “Secure Call” within the Truecaller app, instilling greater confidence in recipients regarding the authenticity of the call. Fredrik Kjell, Truecaller’s Chief Operating Officer, emphasized the importance of this feature, stating, “Spoofed calls erode trust and cause significant distress.” He added that Secure Calls represents an advancement in their commitment to verification, aiming to protect users from fraudulent activities. Notably, the Indian real estate firm NoBroker has already integrated the Secure Calls feature into its operations. The company reported that this added layer of verification not only bolsters customer protection but also enhances the personalization of call messages. Truecaller is launching Secure Calls globally for businesses, marking a proactive step in the fight against call spoofing and enhancing overall communication security.
