Kabuni, a sports technology firm from the UK, has made its official debut in India, aiming to revolutionize cricket coaching for young enthusiasts. The launch event took place in Kolkata, where the company unveiled its innovative platform designed to convert routine practice sessions into insightful, data-driven learning experiences. At the core of Kabuni's offering is an advanced AI system that has been meticulously trained using years of cricket footage, biomechanics, and established coaching methodologies. This technology can analyze both batting and bowling techniques, providing personalized feedback through various mediums including video, images, text, and voice. Players can easily record their practice sessions, whether they are on the streets, at cricket nets, or in schoolyards, and receive immediate, customized insights to enhance their skills. Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of the Indian cricket team and Kabuni’s Global Brand Ambassador, emphasized the importance of quality coaching in fostering better learning and healthier lifestyles for children. "This level of coaching was previously reserved for professionals, but now it is accessible to everyone," he stated. Patrick Badenoch, co-founder and CFO of Kabuni, expressed the company’s vision to democratize structured coaching. He noted that the platform allows players from all backgrounds to document their games and receive tailored feedback, making the journey of improvement enjoyable. Developed in partnership with Cambridge Design Partnership, Kabuni’s system prioritizes both accuracy and safety, catering to learners ranging from beginners to elite athletes. While cricket serves as the initial focus, Kabuni has plans to broaden its horizons to include sports such as tennis, golf, badminton, and table tennis, ultimately creating a comprehensive multi-sport ecosystem that promotes performance, wellness, and everyday fitness. Ganguly also highlighted the cultural significance of cricket in India, stating, "Cricket is not just a sport here; it is a religion. Kabuni is pioneering a digital ecosystem that captures real-world play, starting with cricket, and aims to integrate play into learning, helping every player uncover their inner athlete." Founder and CEO Nimesh Patel added that Kabuni aspires to inspire one billion individuals in India to lead more active and healthier lives within the next decade, committing one percent of all Indian revenue to grassroots sports initiatives.
