Google has announced an exciting new feature within its Gemini platform that enables users to automatically generate entire Google Slides presentations from just a brief text prompt or an uploaded document. This innovative update, highlighted by Chrome Unboxed, is being hailed as one of the most significant enhancements to Gemini's capabilities. Building on the existing "Canvas" function, this feature allows users to easily convert simple concepts or extensive documents into fully themed slide decks. Each generated presentation is equipped with organized content, appropriate headings, and relevant images, effectively transforming Gemini from a mere research assistant into a true collaborator in content creation. To utilize this feature, users can navigate to the Gemini app available on the web, select "Canvas" from the toolbar, and request Geminito to create a presentation. Whether it’s a topic like "a lesson on the Roman Republic" or an uploaded document such as a research report or class notes, the AI will produce a comprehensive multi-slide presentation based on the input. Once the draft is generated, users can export it directly to Google Slides for additional editing, personalization, or collaboration with team members. Google emphasizes that this tool is designed to meet the needs of a diverse range of users. The rollout of this presentation-generating capability is currently underway and is anticipated to be accessible to all eligible users by November 12, 2025. The feature is available on the Gemini web platform and the mobile web, with plans for integration on Android and iOS devices in the near future. This rollout will encompass almost all Google Workspace customers, including those in Business, Enterprise, Education, and Nonprofit sectors, alongside subscribers to Google AI Pro and Gemini Ultra.
