iPhone Air aims to ‘balance size and power’, Tim Cook explains battery upgrades

In a recent visit to Corning's manufacturing facility in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Apple CEO Tim Cook engaged in discussions with CNBC's Jim Cramer about the tech giant’s latest product introductions and its partnership with the glassmaker. The tour showcased Corning's operations and highlighted Apple’s ongoing investments in the company, a collaboration that has garnered significant attention. During this visit, Cook spotlighted the newly launched iPhone 17 Pro and the innovative iPhone Air. He referred to the iPhone 17 Pro’s striking Cosmic Orange color as a “killer colour,” while describing the iPhone Air as a device that combines ‘pro performance’ within a more compact design. This sentiment echoes prior remarks from Apple executives, suggesting that the new offerings are tailored to provide consumers with versatile options. In a video segment shared by CNBC, Cook elaborated on the AirPods' latest live translation capability, enabling users to engage in real-time conversation translations. Addressing inquiries about the iPhone Air’s battery performance, he emphasized that the device had been meticulously designed from the inside, thanks to its eSIM-only architecture, which allows for enhanced battery placement. The discussion later expanded to include Corning CEO Wendell Weeks, further emphasizing the strategic alliance between Apple and Corning in crafting advanced materials for its devices. This visit follows Apple’s annual “Awe Dropping” event where the latest lineup, including iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods, was unveiled. These new devices are slated for release on September 19 in over 50 countries, including the US, India, the UK, Japan, the EU, and the UAE. The excitement surrounding the iPhone 17 and its various models continues to build as details regarding pricing and features are anticipated by eager consumers.
