Apple CEO Tim Cook dismisses retirement rumours, signals long-term commitment

In a recent interview with "Good Morning America," Apple CEO Tim Cook addressed swirling rumors about his potential retirement. He emphatically stated that he has no plans to step down anytime soon, underscoring his dedication to the company he has been a part of for nearly three decades. "I love what I do deeply," Cook expressed, reflecting on his 28 years with Apple. He acknowledged the company's journey, filled with both challenges and triumphs, and praised his colleagues for their support. "The people I work with are so amazing. They bring out the best in me. And hopefully, I can bring out the best in them," he added, reinforcing his passion for the role. These comments come as Apple prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary on April 1, 2026. Despite previous media speculation suggesting that Cook might retire this year, he made it clear that he is still very much committed to steering Apple forward. If he were to step down, he indicated that he would continue to serve as executive chairman of the board, ensuring his ongoing involvement with the company. As part of the upcoming anniversary celebrations, Apple has announced plans for global events. Recently, the company hosted a concert featuring Alicia Keys at its Grand Central store in New York. Plans for similar events are in the works for locations such as Chengdu, China, and Seoul, South Korea, where a special session is expected to feature the popular boy band CORTIS. These initiatives highlight Apple's commitment to engaging with its community as it marks this significant milestone.
