In a significant update, TikTok has unveiled its AI-driven Smart Keyword Filters, designed to empower users to customize their For You page by limiting unwanted content. This announcement, made on Tuesday, reveals that while the platform previously allowed users to block specific keywords, the new filters will intelligently exclude related terms, including synonyms. For instance, if a user opts to filter out 'remodeling,' the system will similarly block 'renovation' and 'renovations.' TikTok plans to further enhance user control by allowing individuals to add or remove specific keywords and increasing the total number from 100 to 200. Additionally, the process of bulk adding keywords will be simplified. The company anticipates that as more users engage with the Smart Keyword Filtering feature, its accuracy will improve over time. Furthermore, TikTok announced the global rollout of its 'Manage Topics' feature, which allows users to personalize their content feed by adjusting the visibility of various subjects, including sports, travel, and food. This feature can be accessed through the Settings menu under 'Content Preferences.' In conjunction with these updates, TikTok will also launch an educational guide to help users optimize their For You feed experience.
