After a star-studded launch event last June, the coveted Besties All-In tequila is finally finding its way to customers. The initial batch of 750 bottles, priced at an impressive $1,200 each, sold out rapidly. However, the journey to get these unique bottles into the hands of eager buyers has been fraught with unexpected challenges. Jason Calacanis, a host of the popular "All-In" podcast, announced to TechCrunch that the long-awaited shipments started last week, concluding a wait that lasted nearly five months. The primary cause for the delay was the production of the handcrafted bottles, which took longer than anticipated. "The handcrafted bottles took a bit longer to create than expected, but the bottles started shipping last week!" Calacanis explained. Designed as a collector's item, the bottle resembles a stack of poker chips, illuminated from the bottom, and nods to poker—one of the hosts' favorite pastimes alongside enjoying tequila. Initially, customers were informed they could expect delivery by the end of summer, but as the season concluded, many found themselves still empty-handed. Customers not only invested in the premium tequila but also covered additional taxes and fees. As delays continued, buyers received notices indicating their shipments were pushed back to October, then November, and in some cases, even further. Communication from Flaviar, the distributor overseeing the deliveries, revealed that shipments would occur in batches, leading to further uncertainty regarding fulfillment timelines. Although it remains unclear how long it will take to complete all deliveries, fans of the podcast can finally look forward to enjoying the luxurious handcrafted tequila during the upcoming holiday season. Flaviar has yet to respond to inquiries about the shipping process.
