AI coding agents are infiltrating the corporate world. Here are the top tools.

Recent insights from Jellyfish, a provider of software engineering management solutions, highlight a significant trend in the corporate sector's adoption of AI technologies. Companies are increasingly shifting from merely using assistive AI tools to integrating more autonomous AI agents that actively engage in the coding process. Between December 2024 and May 2025, Jellyfish examined data from over 400 organizations to assess the prevalence of agentic AI within software development. This advanced technology goes beyond just offering code suggestions; it is capable of tasks such as code reviewing, authoring, and submission. At the beginning of 2025, slightly more than half of the surveyed companies reported utilizing agentic AI for coding functions. However, by May, this number surged to an impressive 82%. Notably, the use of AI-driven code reviews saw a remarkable increase as well, climbing from 39% in January to 76% by May. Among the most popular tools facilitating these advancements are GitHub Copilot Reviewer, Cursor BugBot, and CodeRabbit, while emerging players like Graphite and Greptile are also gaining traction in the field. Despite this growth, there's still a considerable journey ahead before AI can completely dominate the software coding landscape. According to Jellyfish's findings, only about 8% of the companies surveyed are currently testing fully autonomous coding workflows, where AI takes on the roles of not only reviewing but also writing and submitting code. This marks a rise from less than 2% in January, indicating progress, yet still reflects a relatively low level of adoption. As the landscape of software development evolves, the fusion of AI capabilities into coding practices promises to reshape how companies approach their engineering processes.
