Companies like Instawork are leveraging gig workers to gather critical data that can be utilized to train these robots, while others, like Aquant and Gecko Robotics, are deploying AI-driven systems to preemptively identify equipment failures, enhancing operational efficiency. Voccola also highlighted scenarios where robots might outperform humans, such as in data center wiring and inspecting infrastructure. Innovations like miniaturized robots could revolutionize how maintenance and inspections are conducted, making processes quicker and more cost-effective. A spokesperson from Simpro confirmed the company's commitment to developing these technologies, emphasizing that their goal is not to replace skilled workers but to enhance their productivity.
