14 'Second Wave' startups aiming to take the AI era beyond cost cutting

Status has attracted over $15 million in venture capital. Particle, an AI-native news platform, is also making strides by employing AI embeddings and generative tools to link news reporting with relevant insights from various sources, including podcasts. Liven offers a unique approach as a 'self-discovery companion,' combining mood tracking, habit-building tools, and an AI assistant named 'Livie.' This app aims to help users reflect and stay consistent in their journeys. Born, another notable startup, focuses on creating social AI companions to foster real human connections, such as its flagship product Friends, which allows users to co-parent virtual pets and engage in group activities. Other startups are also making waves in the AI landscape. FlowGPT creates a marketplace for users to share and remix prompts, while Tolan offers a voice-first AI companion designed to support users emotionally. Higgsfield is revolutionizing video content creation, and TalkPal serves as a digital language teacher that simulates conversational practice.
