Rubik’s Cube reimagined as a multi-game, multi-screened gadget for $299

The classic Rubik’s Cube has undergone a high-tech transformation, evolving into an innovative gadget known as the WOWCube, now available for preorder at a price of $299. This reimagined version of the beloved puzzle retains its core challenge while integrating advanced technology to engage modern users. Unlike the traditional cube with six faces and a 3×3 grid, the WOWCube features six faces with 2×2 grids, each displaying vibrant visuals on 240×240 IPS screens. Crafted by the company Cubios, the cube consists of eight cubicle modules, each equipped with three screens and a dedicated system-on-chip (SoC). This design allows for seamless communication and power distribution across the modules, ensuring a responsive gaming experience as the cube rotates. Players can engage with the cube in multiple ways; it can display a single solid color for solving classic puzzles or transform into a gaming device with a variety of options. Users can enjoy numerous games like Block Buster, Space Invaders, and Jewel Hunter simply by twisting and turning the cube. Additionally, the WOWCube is enhanced with a gyroscope, a 6-axis accelerometer, and eight speakers, adding to the interactive experience. With an integrated battery life extending up to seven hours, users will have ample time for fun before needing to recharge. To expand the gaming possibilities, users can download the WOWCube Connect app on iOS or Android devices, pair it via Bluetooth, and access the online app store, which currently offers 47 games—some free and others available for purchase. The cube operates on its proprietary system, CubiOS, and Cubios provides a free developer kit for those interested in creating new applications for this futuristic puzzle toy.
