In a remarkable display of resilience, Tesla reported delivering over 480,000 vehicles during the second quarter of this year. This figure marks an impressive increase of more than 120,000 compared to the prior quarter, indicating the company's strong appeal to new electric vehicle (EV) buyers, even amidst a general downturn in the U.S. market. On Thursday, Tesla revealed that it manufactured 451,758 vehicles in the second quarter, predominantly consisting of 442,936 Model 3 sedans and Model Y SUVs. Out of these, 467,762 units were successfully delivered, while 12,364 units fell under the category of “other models,” which includes the much-anticipated Cybertruck as well as the final-production versions of the Model S sedans and Model X SUVs. This quarter stands out as Tesla's most successful in terms of raw delivery numbers, significantly exceeding Wall Street forecasts. Moreover, it marks the company's strongest quarter for total sales since the third quarter of 2025, when it approached the milestone of 500,000 vehicles shipped globally. Despite facing the challenge of a two-year trend of declining overall sales, the results from the second quarter suggest that Tesla is proactively countering this trend. Through strategic geographic expansion and the introduction of more affordable versions of the Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck, the company appears to be navigating the market successfully.
