TeraWulf's stock experienced a significant surge of over 10% following Google's decision to increase its investment in the bitcoin mining and datacenter operator. This strategic move supports TeraWulf's expansion efforts at its facility in Lake Mariner, New York. As part of the updated agreement, Google will provide up to $1.4 billion in additional financial backing, raising its total investment to approximately $3.2 billion. With this new commitment, Google's ownership in TeraWulf has grown from 8% to 14%, allowing the tech giant to acquire around 32.5 million shares of the company. TeraWulf's CEO, Paul Prager, emphasized that this partnership reinforces their "strategic alignment with Google" aimed at developing advanced artificial intelligence infrastructure. The excitement around TeraWulf's stock is palpable, especially after the company recently secured two long-term computing agreements with AI cloud provider Fluidstack. These contracts will enable TeraWulf to deliver over 200 megawatts of capacity from its Lake Mariner datacenter in Western New York, contributing to a remarkable 90% increase in shares over the past week. Prager described this development as a "game changer in the industry," highlighting the importance of robust energy infrastructure and effective management in capitalizing on these opportunities. The latest announcement raises the critical IT load at the datacenter to more than 360 megawatts, with Fluidstack also exercising an option for an additional 160 megawatts. TeraWulf has projected that this partnership will result in contracted revenue of $6.7 billion, with potential growth to $16 billion through lease extensions. The company anticipates operational commencement in the latter half of 2026. TeraWulf's CTO, Nazar Khan, remarked that Fluidstack's rapid decision to expand underscores the quality and scalability of their infrastructure. Additionally, TeraWulf has announced plans to issue $400 million in convertible senior notes due in 2031, further solidifying its financial strategy and growth potential.
