Deepinder Goyal's startup, Temple, is making strides in the wearable technology sector by forming strategic alliances with manufacturing leaders Zetwerk and Ethereal Machines. This collaboration comes as Temple gears up to boost its production capabilities and broaden its operational reach. Temple, which was established over a year ago by the founder of Eternal, specializes in wearable devices that continuously monitor brain flow through a sensor patch placed at the user’s temple. The company has commenced shipping an initial batch of approximately 100 devices and aims to progressively increase its output in the coming weeks. According to reports, Temple will handle the majority of manufacturing in-house. However, certain aspects of the production, such as the precision manufacturing of specialized sensors, will be managed by Ethereal, while Zetwerk will oversee the scaling of manufacturing processes. Temple’s initial production target is set at several thousand units, with plans to distribute these devices in both Indian and international markets, including the United States. Having secured around $54 million in funding, Temple currently holds an estimated valuation of $190 million. The company has attracted investments from notable figures such as Kunal Shah, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Raj Shamani, Abhiraj Singh Bhal, Varun Alagh, and Akshant Goyal, along with institutional investors like Peak XV Partners, Info Edge, Vy Capital, and Steadview Capital. Temple's technology is underpinned by Goyal's Gravity Ageing Hypothesis, which posits that gravity's effect on blood circulation can lead to biological ageing and cognitive decline over time. The wearable device aims to continuously monitor these circulation dynamics, potentially paving the way for innovative preventive measures in brain health.
