Telegram is set to broaden its digital currency offerings by launching its crypto wallet for the 87 million users in the United States. This wallet, named the TON wallet, is designed to work seamlessly within the Telegram application, leveraging the capabilities of the TON blockchain. The integration aims to provide a user-friendly entry point for those new to cryptocurrency. While Telegram has been offering its crypto wallet to users outside the U.S. since 2023, the delayed launch in the American market was primarily due to concerns surrounding regulatory frameworks. Last year, Telegram reported that over 100 million users globally had activated their wallets, representing around 10% of its total one billion active users. Current statistics indicate that the TON blockchain processes approximately 334,000 transactions each day, showcasing a robust and active ecosystem for digital transactions.
