PM Modi earns praise from Apple's Cook and Microsoft's Nadella over India's transformation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has achieved a historic milestone by becoming India's longest-serving elected Prime Minister, marking 4,399 consecutive days in office. This achievement surpasses the tenure of Jawaharlal Nehru by a single day, prompting congratulations from prominent global leaders, including Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Apple CEO Tim Cook. Tim Cook took to social media platform X to express his admiration, stating, "Congratulations on becoming the longest-serving prime minister elected in India’s history. Thank you for supporting innovation that enriches people’s lives!" His words reflect Apple’s aggressive expansion in India, where the tech giant has increased local manufacturing partnerships with companies like Foxconn and Tata Electronics, as well as opened flagship retail outlets in major cities. Apple's remarkable performance in the March quarter highlights India as one of its fastest-growing markets, displaying robust double-digit growth. Cook commented, "It has been wonderful to see how we’ve continued to grow in India in recent years, part of our larger efforts to connect with even more customers and emerging markets all over the world." Despite already achieving significant success in the country, Cook acknowledged the vast opportunities that remain in what is now the second-largest smartphone market and the third-largest PC market globally. He emphasized, "We still have a modest share, and so I think that really speaks to the opportunity that we have." Microsoft has shown its commitment to India by announcing a $17.5 billion investment over four years to enhance cloud and AI infrastructure, coupled with plans to skill over 10 million Indians in AI by 2030.
