TCS announces major leadership rejig across BFSI, cyber security and global markets

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a significant leadership restructuring aimed at enhancing its operations across several key sectors including Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI), cybersecurity, and its global markets. This strategic move is designed to sharpen the company's focus on artificial intelligence (AI), platform-led transformations, and sector-specific expansion. As the largest IT services firm in India, TCS is positioning itself for the anticipated surge in enterprise technology investments. With AI adoption, automation, and platform modernization expected to redefine client needs, this reshuffle marks one of the most substantial changes within the company in recent years. A central aspect of this reorganization involves the BFSI sector in the Americas, which is TCS's primary revenue driver. The business has been divided into two distinct operating groups to enhance customer engagement and operational execution. Susheel Vasudevan, who previously led BFSI Americas, will transition to a strategic role under the direct supervision of CEO K Krithivasan. Meanwhile, Rakesh Kumar and Mohan Veeturi, who formerly managed the BFSI US West and the banking segment in US East respectively, have been promoted to lead the newly established BFSI groups. Additionally, TCS is making changes in its international markets. In Canada, Manmeet Chhabra takes over as country head, succeeding Soumen Roy, who will now head the Global Value & Innovation Centres. The company has also set up dedicated groups for sectors it identifies as having long-term growth potential. Arun Pradeep is appointed to lead the newly created Travel, Transport and Hospitality (TTH) business group, while Sabyasachi Chandra will oversee the Energy, Resources, and Utilities (ERU) business. In Europe, Ganesa Vaikuntam is shifting from his role managing TCS's cybersecurity services to lead the Life Sciences business for the UK and Europe, taking over from Vikas Jain. Furthermore, Chief Operating Officer Aarthi Subramanian has revealed several strategic appointments across emerging growth sectors. Rajnish Palande has been designated as the global head of the newly formed ServiceNow Business Unit, highlighting TCS's expanding partnership with this enterprise software provider. Kumaranarayanan, who previously managed the North America Energy & Resources segment, will now lead the cybersecurity unit. Akhilesh Tripathi has been assigned to head the newly created US West Coast Business Group, which will cater to technology, semiconductor, and software clients. TCS is also consolidating its communications, media, information services, and technology segments under V. Rajanna's leadership, while Akhilesh Tiwari will oversee global sales for the newly established Autonomous Business Operations (ABO) unit.
